Niacet Anhydrous Hydrogen Chloride

Anhydrous Hydrogen Chloride (AHCl) is a colorless gas that plays an important role in various technologies such as pharmaceutical, chemical and electronics industries. The majority of Niacet AHCl is produced at a ultra-high purity electronics grade (99.999%, 5N) and technical grade (99.9%, 3N) products. In addition Niacet produces hydrochloric acid, a solution of AHCl in water. Concentrations range from less than 1% up to 38%. The latter is referred to as “concentrated” or “fuming” hydrochloric acid.

Our exceptionally pure process produces few impurities that may impact your process.

aHCl Applications

aHCl is an important reagent used in chemical transformations, which include

  • A cleaning gas in epitaxial water processes in the semiconductor industry. It can also be used to etch semiconductor crystals and purify silicon via trichlorosilane (SiHCl3).
  • Hydrochlorination of rubber
  • Hydrochloric acid
  • Production of vinyl and alkyl chlorides
  • Production of pharmaceutical products
  • Cotton delinting
  • Organic synthesis (e.g.,generation of chloride-based Lewis acids, which must be absolutely dry to keep their reactivity)
